This is not one of my more well-received photos on Instagram. One person even commented "huh?" It was an accidental shot, but I liked it. It's also a great representation of what it's like to have Lyme brain, which has been a little bit more common these days. Things are foggy, unclear. I make all sorts of weird mistakes, like putting the brown sugar in the fridge. Or filling up my cup with water from the RO system and walking away only to have it overflow all over the counter because I twisted the faucet to fill from the counter not the sink. That happens at least 2 or 3 times per week. It's getting old. I'm frustrated. I can't think clearly and I sometimes can't make simple decisions. Because of the cognitive impairment, we (my doctor and I) decided to go back to treating the Lyme (we had taken a break from it to focus on Babesia) and I'm now doing 2 bicillin shots per week in the butt. Today was a big herx day from the first shot. And it's one of those days that leaves me wondering if I'm ever going to make it out of this mess.
