My Old Man

Mr. Wild Dingo turned 50 today. I woke up this morning and kissed him goodbye for work as usual then got and my car and went to my doctor’s appointment. I felt like I was forgetting something. When I got to the office, I remembered that I forgot to tell him “Happy Birthday.” So I texted it to him. I know Internet. It’s so typical of me. I am not the most thoughtful individual on special days. Luckily he knows this and is not disappointed.

When it comes to things we need or want, and it’s reasonably in our budget, we just get them for each other or ourselves. We take care of each other every day, making sure each other’s needs are met.  The truth is, I don’t think there’s a present in the world that could come close to showing how grateful I am that the universe created him and permitted our paths to cross.  And while he’s no sap and doesn’t wax poetic about me or our relationship, I don’t know anyone smarter, stronger, more respectful or caring.  I don’t think I could have found a better friend, teacher, lover or husband all wrapped up into one person, than Mr. Wild Dingo.

Happy Birthday Honey. You are the love of my life.

  1. We don’t do birthdays much here either, but always nice to get good wishes from friends, right?

Happy Birthday to MWD (and thanks for agreeing to hang upside down from a tree).

  2. I tried to get there in time to be MWD’s birthday present, but couldn’t get a flight out in time:( Hope you had a back up plan… although this post should have been enough!

  3. Whoa Jules!!! You just wrote the best birthday present anybody could ask for!
