What do you mean there will be no walkies today? 093/365

“What do you mean, ‘there will be no walkies today’ Mom?”

Sorry, buddy. Today I spend most of the day at the doctor's doing my first infusion of the week then running to two pharmacies picking up my supplies, all with a big fat migraine from the first rush of the medication. I'd much rather be doing walkies with my besties!

Aside from that, the new IV cocktail is kicking my ass. I spent most of Memorial day weekend horizontal.  I tried to walk the dogs once and it nearly killed me. I took a bath after the walk and was so weak, I couldn't stand up. Thankfully Mr. Wild Dingo walked them on Monday. And today since it was doctor day, they skipped their walks in lieu of hanging out in the garden and hunting moles or intruders. This morning poor Juno got stung by a bee. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong with her until I saw the dying wasp on the rug. I was so glad it was just a bee sting. I was so worried it was something worse. Sometimes it's just too much to take care of them plus myself.

Tomorrow, I will rally the immune system troops and try to get some miles in with them, no matter how slow they are.

  1. Dogs love hanging around the house too, it doesn't always have to be a walk. It's great they force us to be motivated, even when we'd rather be laying horizontal.

  2. Ah, Loki - we know you are really just checking to make sure your Mom is still alive and breathing. (And hunting moles and intruders is good, too, right?) Take care of your Mom - you are good at that!

-Dr. Liz, who is awake WAY too early for her own good....

  3. OH yes, we will admit that we both DO love our daily walkies. But if moles are involved, we might be OK with a pause every now and then. Hope today is a much better day for you.
