This is Ludwig, our neighbor. From the first day they met two years ago, he and Loki were bonded. It’s a relationship that has puzzled and fascinated me.
Ludwig is pensive, quiet, intelligent and thoughtful. He’s seen Loki at his worst—barking his fool-head off at the fence fighting dogs in the ‘hood—and yet he shows no fear and total respect. Whenever they see each other, Loki instantly goes to Ludwig, leans next to him and is as relaxed as I ever see him. It’s easy to understand why Loki is attracted to Ludwig. He’s Loki’s camomile tea and lavender pillow, providing the very thing he needs to balance the crackery running through his core.
But I’m still at a loss as to why Ludwig prefers Loki. I mean, the dog looks like he can have Ludwig for lunch. So I’ve asked and Ludwig is still considering his answer.
Maybe its the horns—err—I mean, ears.

Reminds me of a big scary dog in our neighborhood when I was growing up. His name was Wolfgang and he terrorized the neighborhood, but he was just a ball of mush with me. Sometimes dogs just pick a pal and who wouldn’t love a dog that loved them so much?

Ludwig looks really nice. Maybe he’s Loki’s assistance biped. You could get him a vest and take him places with you!

Never question genuine love. It just is.

Aww… that’s so sweet. It seems that kids seem to love Sibes because they are in movies, but it’s nice to see Loki getting some preference.

I’ve seen Morgan like this with several kids. She does seem to really be drawn to them, and oddly, they are to her, too! Maybe it’s a yin yang thing!
