Lyme Disease Warrior

Eight years, 25 doctors, no diagnosis. Five infections missed. One immune system, shattered. Five years in treatment. Two years of IV and needles, daily. Forty medications, 20 supplements, 8 alternative therapies. One retirement plan, depleted. Thirteen years of life passing. Mostly recovered but mainly managing. This is Lyme Disease. This is my story.

You Know You're a Lymie When...

You know you’re a Lymie when your doctor tells you that your PCR test came back positive for Lyme and you breathe a huge sigh of relief and say, “Oh thank God!”  Because it proves that Lyme disease isn’t really all “in your head” but quite literally IN YOUR HEAD. Neuropathy and Lyme Brain are […]

But I Get Up Again

I'm 58 photos into my daily project and I'm still going. It's a bit hard to believe given that I still have days like yesterday where I spent all of day on the sofa. The first day of my weekly infusions always hits me hard.

Business as Usual

It's back to business as usual here at Wild Dingo. Now that I'm back on the same Lyme treatment I was in December, I'm back to functioning almost normally. Bee Healthy

One such cure that's been floating around for a while is Apitherapy or bee venom therapy.  Ellie Lobel, who had been fighting chronic Lyme disease for nearly 20 years, was cured […]

Spring Has Sprung!

Spring is here in Santa Cruz Mountains and that leaves only a short window of time to photograph the variety of blooms in vibrant greens, blues, pinks and reds before it all turns golden brown. I walk by numerous varieties of wildflowers everyday on my dog walk and I've never given them a glance, much […]

When Being Strong is the Only Choice

It's been a challenging week for me and the dogs. Between being stuck at home resting and going to multiple doctor appointments, there were no walkies. They took it with grace and didn't complain much. I think they know more than we imagine they do. It breaks my heart to deny them their daily walk and […]
